Trần Thị Thanh Thúy is expected back in Vietnam on November 23 to join Tây Ninh for the 10th National Sports Games. SGGP, citing the coaching staff, reported that the Gunma Green Wings outside hitter remains under Tây Ninh’s sporting administration despite playing in Japan.
A returning player within the existing squad
Thanh Thúy missed the second phase of Vietnam’s 2026 national volleyball championship because of her Japanese club commitments. Her anticipated National Games return is a separate assignment for her home sporting unit. November 23 remains the reported travel plan, rather than confirmation of her arrival.
Tây Ninh’s core comes from VTV Bình Điền Long An. Players named in the report include Nguyễn Thị Trà My, Trịnh Huỳnh Bảo Ngọc, Nguyễn Ngọc Anh, Nguyễn Thị Hồng Đào, Võ Thị Kim Thoa, Võ Thị Thảo Nguyên and Lữ Thị Phương.
The team is not adding players from other units. Đặng Thị Kim Thanh will represent Ho Chi Minh City instead, SGGP said. Thanh Thúy’s return should therefore be understood as reinforcement from within Tây Ninh’s own ranks.
A title ambition with a defined timetable
Thanh Thúy helped Long An, now Tây Ninh, win gold in 2018. The team took silver in 2022 after losing the final to the Army women’s side. That history frames its ambition for the highest finish in 2026, without guaranteeing the outcome.
Indoor volleyball runs from November 28 to December 11 at Rạch Miễu Sports Hall in Ho Chi Minh City. Tây Ninh’s next preparation milestone is the planned November 23 reunion before competition begins.
