Vietnam-Laos trade reached US$2.9 billion in 2025 and more than US$1.6 billion in the first nine months of 2026, the Government News reports, citing trade counsellor Trần Thị Tú Anh. Exchanges increasingly involve machinery, raw materials, energy and supply-chain links. Improvements to border gates, infrastructure and logistics are seen as avenues for further cooperation. The US$10 billion figure discussed is a goal for future years, separate from the results reported for each completed statistical period.
