The Asian Football Confederation has appointed a Malaysian officiating team for all three matches of the 2026 Casper Cup, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) says. Mohamad Nawal Bin Mohammad Zubir will be the referee for the friendly tournament involving Vietnam, Chinese Taipei and Kyrgyzstan.
The three-match schedule
The VFF says the games will be played at Thiên Trường Stadium in Ninh Bình. Vietnam meet Chinese Taipei on 11 November, Chinese Taipei face Kyrgyzstan on 14 November, and Vietnam play Kyrgyzstan on 17 November. Zubir is appointed to referee each match.
The hosts therefore appear on the first and final match days, with the meeting between the two visiting sides in between. These are scheduled fixtures; lineups and results will be determined when the games take place.
Experience in Vietnamese football
Born in 1995, Zubir previously refereed Đà Nẵng against Thể Công Viettel in round 20 of the 2025/26 V.League, according to the VFF. The federation describes that as his first assignment in Vietnam's professional football system. It also lists experience in Malaysian domestic football and international friendlies.
Tuổi Trẻ names his assistants as Mohd Arif Shamil Bin Abd Rasid and Nadziran Bin Eziz. The first worked on Vietnam's Asian Cup 2023 group game against Iraq, while Nadziran officiated a 2022 V.League match between Thể Công Viettel and Bình Định, the VFF and Tuổi Trẻ report.
