Organisers announced the APP Asia Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 at a November 6 press conference in Ho Chi Minh City. The pickleball tournament is scheduled for December 10-13 at VIAS Pickleball Academy with a total prize fund of up to US$50,000, Sài Gòn Giải Phóng reported.

More than 1,500 domestic and international players are expected. That figure is an organiser projection made ahead of the tournament, not a count of players who have competed. The event is described as the first official APP Asia Tour stop staged in Vietnam.

Players named in the announcement

Quang Dương was among the players highlighted at the press conference. Tuổi Trẻ cited APP as saying he won men's singles and men's doubles gold at the Penang stop in July 2026.

Sài Gòn Giải Phóng also listed Megan Fudge, Sofia Sewing, Vivian Glozman, Roos van Reek, Richard Livornese, Jack Munro and Tanner Tomassi. Tuổi Trẻ included Trịnh Linh Giang among the anticipated entrants. The final field can still change before competition begins.

Event scale and organisers

Information reported from the press conference described 21 standard court clusters and 51 events, covering professional, senior, amateur and youth categories. SEVA is organising the tournament under the patronage and direction of the Vietnam Pickleball Federation.

Tuổi Trẻ reported that the Association of Pickleball Players was established in 2019 and that the APP Asia Tour expanded its competition system in Asia. The four-day schedule offers local spectators a chance to follow an international tour stop at home, while individual event schedules and final entries remain to be confirmed by organisers.
