Vietnam's VN-Index recovered about 33 points on November 4, ending a run of declines and closing near 1,733. VnExpress reported that stronger buying after the midday break broadened the rebound. The large-cap VN30 rose around 46 points, or 2.56%.

Brokers lead a broader recovery

All securities stocks advanced, with VCI, VND, VIX and TCX reaching their daily upper limits. SSI and several other brokerage shares gained more than 5%.

Banks also recovered. LPB, VPB, CTG and EIB each added more than 3%, while steel stocks reversed earlier losses to finish mostly 1-2% higher. FPT reached its ceiling price of VND53,900. VIC was unchanged at VND234,000, while VHM, VRE and VPL advanced.

VietnamPlus put the VN-Index's precise closing level at 1,733.02, up 33.4 points. It identified VCB, VHM, VPB, CTG and FPT among positive contributors, spanning banking, property and technology.

Turnover rises as foreign selling eases

VnExpress reported turnover of nearly VND18 trillion, with VN30 shares accounting for more than half. No individual stock on the Ho Chi Minh City exchange recorded matched transactions above VND1 trillion.

Foreign investors remained net sellers for a ninth consecutive session, withdrawing around VND70 billion. That was substantially below the VND500 billion to VND600 billion seen in preceding sessions.

MBS analysts, cited by VnExpress, pointed to favourable November seasonality after two declining months. Their ten-year review showed gains in 70% of Novembers, averaging 3.8%. Subsequent trading will show whether the renewed demand continues after the sharp adjustment.
