FIBA has confirmed the rosters of the six clubs taking part in the 2026 Women's Basketball League Asia, completing the lineup announcement before the tournament opens in Bengaluru, India. The regional office announced the teams on 19 October, with competition scheduled for 20–25 October.
Six clubs and two groups
Sichuan Yuanda Meile, Akari Sparks and Cathay Life Tigers form Group A. Denso Iris, Cheongju KB Stars and Indian Railways are in Group B. The allocation was based on the FIBA women's world ranking, and every game will be played at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium.
FIBA's tournament guide describes this as the third edition and the first staged outside China. Chengdu and Dongguan hosted the first two editions, both won by Chinese clubs. Inaugural champion Sichuan returns, while Cathay Life becomes the first club to appear in all three tournaments.
Denso Iris, Cheongju KB Stars, Akari Sparks and host club Indian Railways are newcomers. The latter two also bring the Philippines and India into the competition for the first time.
Route to the medals
The group stage runs from 20–22 October in a single round-robin format. The top two clubs in each group advance to crossover semifinals on 24 October. The third-placed teams meet that day to decide fifth and sixth positions.
The semifinal winners contest a one-game final on 25 October. The losing semifinalists play for third place immediately before the title game. FIBA says all matches will be streamed on its official YouTube channel.
The annual club competition forms part of FIBA's work to develop women's basketball across Asia, with this edition expanding both its host geography and the countries represented.
