The Industry and Trade Ministry is consulting on a petroleum-business decree that would let companies set retail prices using a common formula. VnExpress cites a ministry official saying the formula includes purchase costs, sourcing costs, operating costs, profit and taxes. The state would monitor data, conduct inspections and retain stabilisation tools for unusual price movements. Prices could differ between retail networks if adopted; the mechanism remains a proposal.
