G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung played for nearly three hours in front of tens of thousands of fans at Mỹ Đình Stadium in Hanoi on 24 October, the first of BigBang's two Vietnam dates on the world tour marking the group's 20th anniversary. VnExpress reported that the show opened at 19:45 with Fantastic Baby and ended at 22:30 with Still Life, after which the three members bowed and knelt on stage to thank the crowd.

Between songs, G-Dragon looked back on two decades together, telling fans that the journey which began in 2006 had changed everything and that, in 2026, the group was still here to celebrate 20 wonderful years. He added that this was the first time BigBang had properly met its Vietnamese fans. Daesung said he was sure it was the best performance of his life.

How the night unfolded

KBVN+ pieced together the running order from VnExpress's coverage:

  • 19:45: Fantastic Baby, described by VnExpress as one of the songs that pioneered the mix of EDM and hip-hop in K-pop.
  • Third song, Tonight: near the end G-Dragon smashed a guitar, recreating a signature moment from the song's 2011 promotion. BigBang last performed Tonight on the MADE World Tour 2015-2016 and brought it back when this tour opened in Goyang, South Korea, on 21 August.
  • Rest of the first chapter: Blue and Bad Boy, with Haru Haru, Lies and Bae Bae also in the first half.
  • Solo chapter: Daesung mixed songs with comic banter; Taeyang performed Bad, Ringa Linga and Live Fast Die Slow, at one point coming right down to the crowd; G-Dragon closed the segment with Crayon and Power, the former ending with confetti and LED effects sweeping the stands for several minutes.
  • Home Sweet Home: the trio left the stage after fireworks while the stands sang Haru Haru and chanted "One more time".
  • Encore, about 10 minutes later: Last Farewell and Feeling.
  • 22:30: Still Life, released in 2022 and known in Korean as Spring Summer Fall Winter, closed the night with the kneeling bow. Many fans stayed on afterwards singing Haru Haru.

Vietnamese greetings and a lot of pho

The members repeatedly spoke Vietnamese on stage, VnExpress said, with lines such as "Xin chào, Hà Nội" (Hello, Hanoi), "Tôi yêu Việt Nam" (I love Vietnam) and "Tôi yêu các bạn" (I love you all). They rewrote the chorus of Bae Bae as "Hà Nội ơi" (Oh, Hanoi), Daesung kept shouting "Hanoi, push your hand up!" during Hands Up, and G-Dragon asked the crowd to sing him a belated happy birthday.

Pho came up again and again, even slipped into the lyrics of a few songs. Taeyang told the crowd that Hanoi's weather was as hot as pho, adding that he was truly hooked on the noodle soup.

Vietnamese singer Tùng Dương, who was in the audience, called it a memorable night not just for K-pop fans but for Vietnam's music market, according to VnExpress. He praised the trio as genuine vocalists rather than idols built on choreography, fashion or stage technology.

Beyond the stage

Tuổi Trẻ reported that the two nights were expected to draw about 90,000 fans and that tickets for both sold out quickly. Citing Trip.com data, it said flight bookings to Hanoi for 23 to 26 October were up 74% on the same period last year and passenger numbers up 76%, with hotels around Mỹ Đình fully booked by visitors from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Seoul, Taipei, Nagoya and Busan.

Merchandise drew queues as well. VnExpress saw fans lining up outside a shop on Láng Hạ street from 4-5am on 24 October. Nearly 70 items were shipped to Hanoi, with the light stick priced at 1.7 million dong, a crown keyring at 700,000 dong and T-shirts from 1.3 million to 3.5 million dong. The top ticket tier, the Ultimate VIP Package, cost 10.5 million dong.

For YG Entertainment, VnExpress cited estimates from Hana Securities and DS Investment & Securities that the anniversary tour could add at least 30 billion won (about $22.6 million) to the agency's 2026 profit, with Hana raising its full-year operating profit forecast for YG from 66.8 billion to 93.5 billion won. Heungkuk Securities was more cautious: in July it projected around 1.3 million attendees, based on the 33 shows announced at the time. Actual earnings depend on ticket sales, production costs, merchandise and how revenue is shared between the artists, the agency and promoters.

What's next: the second Mỹ Đình night

BigBang will play their second night at Mỹ Đình Stadium on the evening of 25 October. Hanoi is one stop on a tour of about 39 shows across many countries and territories that runs until 28 February 2027.

The group's Hanoi visit began on the night of 23 October, when BigBang left Nội Bài airport through a private exit and the fans waiting there never saw them, VnExpress reported. Read more in BigBang arrive in Hanoi as hundreds of fans wait at Nội Bài airport.
