Binh chủng Thông tin’s women’s volleyball team were honoured in Hanoi on 2 November after winning the 2026 national championship. Sài Gòn Giải Phóng reported that Binh đoàn 19 awarded the squad VND 500 million as players resumed preparations for the National Games.

Recognition for an earlier championship

Coach Phạm Văn Long credited teamwork and professional preparation. He, captain Hoàng Thị Kiều Trinh and several players received commendations, alongside certificates for other individuals.

The title recognised at the ceremony came from the earlier final against Hanoi in Vĩnh Long. It was not a new final played on 2 November. The success returned the team to the national championship after its previous title in 2021.

The VND 500 million was a team award from Binh đoàn 19 and should be distinguished from the Signal Corps’ commendations.

The Army squad’s next preparation phase

In a later report that day, SGGP said the Army women’s team, built around Binh chủng Thông tin players, departed for China on the evening of 2 November for a 16-day camp. Plans include training and practice matches with two or three teams to assess combinations and tactics.

The target is to defend National Games gold, won in 2022 against Long An. Experienced players including Hoàng Thị Kiều Trinh, Đoàn Thị Lâm Oanh, Lưu Thị Ly Ly and Nguyễn Huỳnh Phương Thùy remain involved.

Long said foreign players would not feature at the Games. Indoor volleyball is scheduled for 28 November–11 December at Rạch Miễu in Ho Chi Minh City. Completing the camp and assessing the squad are the next steps; another gold medal remains an objective rather than an achieved result.
