Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade approved a commodity derivatives market development programme for 2026–2030, with a vision to 2045, under Decision 2433/QD-BCT. It seeks a transparent and safe market connected to physical production, imports and exports.

Priorities include legal rules, infrastructure, basic products and workforce development, combining controlled trials with selective expansion. Providing businesses with tools to hedge price risks is paired with supervision and participant protection. The approved programme sets an implementation roadmap rather than reporting targets already achieved.
