Bona Film plans to release the AI-produced feature Tam Tinh Doi: Vi Lai Vang Su in China on October 23. VnExpress's October 17 report describes more than two years of production and technology development behind the hundred-minute film.

The report presents it as China's first AI feature licensed for theatrical release. That claim concerns the stated national and project context, rather than establishing a worldwide cinema record.

From short series to feature

Bona created an AI content centre in 2023. Before the feature, it produced a thirteen-part short series released in 2024, with episodes of approximately four minutes.

The reported total above two hundred million views belongs to that earlier series, not the unreleased feature. The project helped test production methods and audience interest.

Content-centre representative Khuc Cat Tieu Giang said the team developed tools while making the film because mature solutions were not readily available.

Fiction and early interest

The story draws on Sanxingdui archaeology but introduces fictional symbols, binary code and a future crisis involving advanced AI. Those plot devices are not confirmed archaeological discoveries.

Screenwriter and director Banh Viet Minh connects the ancient setting with a speculative future. Commentators cited in the report view the project as an experiment in production methods under industry cost pressures.

Taopiaopiao listed more than twelve thousand expressions of interest at the reporting stage. That is distinct from ticket sales or box-office success. The planned release must still establish the feature's audience response and commercial outcome.
