Emraan Hashmi's Rooh has added Tips Films and Tips Music to its production team, Variety reports. Kumar Taurani joins the musical horror project ahead of a planned 2027 cinema release across Hindi, Tamil and Telugu markets.
A film-and-music partnership
Mayank Sharma directs from a screenplay co-written with Vishal Kapoor. Tips Films presents the Vicked Films production, while Tips Music will release its soundtrack. Taurani, Girissh Kumar, Vikram Khakhar and Sunny Khanna produce, with Vikas Sahni co-producing.
The film combines romance and horror and integrates songs into the plot. Hashmi described music as an important connection between audiences and his films and said Rooh's music should express its romantic and haunting emotional character. Those remarks describe an intention, rather than reception for a released soundtrack.
A reunion with a former collaborator
Tips produced Hashmi's debut film Footpath, giving Taurani's involvement a history beyond this individual deal. Khanna highlighted the partners' experience in both film and music as particularly relevant to the project.
Hashmi's earlier horror credits include Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Raaz 3: The Third Dimension and Ek Thi Daayan. Rooh therefore continues an established part of his screen career while attaching a new production partnership.
Hashmi also played a customs officer in Neeraj Pandey's Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web in 2026. The Netflix series premiered on January 14 and led its global non-English television chart for January 12–18. With Rooh, the next work brings romance, horror and songs together for the planned 2027 theatrical release.
