Đồng Tháp have secured promotion to Vietnam's 2027 Second Division with a round to spare after drawing 1-1 with TTHL and ĐTTT Khánh Hòa on November 5. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) says the result left them on 21 points and assured of a top-two finish in Group B of the 2026 Third Division.
The promotion race remains open in Group A. Đội hạng Ba Hà Nội and Vạn Xuân Đan Phượng shared a goalless draw to move to 17 points each, while Tây Mỗ had 16 points from one fewer match at the time of the VFF report.
How Đồng Tháp secured their place
Khánh Hòa took the lead through Đỗ Thanh Tài in the eighth minute. Phùng Khắc Lê equalised for Đồng Tháp after 23 minutes, and the score stayed level. The point put the leaders four clear of third-placed An Giang, who had only one match left.
Elsewhere in Group B, Đồng Nai beat Hồ Chí Minh United 2-0 with goals from Trần Đình Bảo and Nguyễn Tuấn Sang. STP Food TP.HCM defeated An Giang 2-1. The VFF's report listed Đồng Tháp on 21 points, Đồng Nai on 18, An Giang on 17 and STP Food TP.HCM on 15; the remaining promotion place was still contested.
Group A and the format
Hà Nội Bulls beat Bình Định FC 3-1. Hoàng Ngọc Sơn scored twice and Bùi Thành Huy added the other goal, with Đặng Phát replying for Bình Định FC. The federation says the 12-team competition is divided into two groups, with the top two in each earning promotion.
Tây Mỗ were scheduled to play TTTT II Ninh Bình on November 6. The final Group A order depends on actual results, rather than the provisional points snapshot. More Vietnam football news is available on the site's football page.
