Vietnam's Industry and Trade Ministry launched its Go Global programme and partner network at the Vietnam Export Promotion Forum on November 4. Government News reported that the initiative offers companies several routes to international expansion, based on their resources, industries and business objectives.
Targets combine broad training with specialist support
By 2030, the programme aims to provide 10,000 business training places and help 1,000 companies develop internationalisation plans. It targets intensive assistance for 100 companies investing overseas, including 30 pursuing mergers and acquisitions.
A further objective covers 100 companies entering regional and global value chains, with at least 20 large firms in strategic industries. Another 100 are to receive support for effective cross-border e-commerce operations, including at least 10 with online export revenue above $10 million.
Companies may pursue exports, digital trade, supply-chain participation or overseas offices, subsidiaries and joint ventures. The new network brings together expertise, market information and advisory services for those choices.
Local plans connect national goals with companies
The Industry and Trade Ministry's account of the forum reported Deputy Minister Luong Hoang Thai's call for practical implementation measured by results. Eighteen localities have already issued Local Go Global action plans.
The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and programme office signed memorandums with partners at the event. Cooperation is intended to connect businesses with skills, finance, technology and international contacts.
The ministry will translate the programme's objectives into specific action plans. Businesses were encouraged to prepare their products, management, brands and distribution systems for sustained participation in overseas markets.
