Lucca Comics and Games concluded its 60th anniversary edition in Italy after five days of activities spanning comics, games, animation and film. Variety reported around 80,000 ticketed visitors per day at the October 28–November 1 event, spread across exhibitions and temporary experiences in the Tuscan city.

Different ways to meet fans

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians delegation included Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri, alongside showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz. Following a panel, the cast greeted more than 8,000 fans from a terrace overlooking Piazza della Magione.

HBO’s Harry Potter pavilion offered a different format: props, temporary house tattoos and a recorded message from John Lithgow and Nick Frost. Variety said no cast member was physically present there and no show footage was previewed. The two attractions thus brought different kinds of access rather than equivalent screenings.

New work and public participation

The live action Blue Lock adaptation received a European premiere. Frank Miller introduced another collaboration with Peach Momoko, inspired by Japanese horror stories, while Go Nagai was honoured through the Sun, Heart, and Steel exhibition featuring work including Mazinger Z and Devilman.

Cosplayers supplied a further attraction across the streets, with characters from Star Wars, Harry Potter and Jurassic Park among those observed. Italian author and television personality Alberto Angela joined the Star Wars parade dressed as a Mandalorian.

Following the festival, the projects presented will move through their individual development or release stages. A European premiere, a display of props and an announcement of creative collaboration each represents a different milestone in that process.
