Nguyễn Thu Thảo of Vietnam won The Miss Globe 2026 at the final in Thailand on November 6. Tuổi Trẻ reported 49 contestants. The host country’s representative placed second, followed by the entrants from Ukraine, the Netherlands and Argentina.

The final question

Thanh Niên says the contestants went through introductions, evening wear and swimsuit presentations before the final five were selected. In the question round, Thu Thảo was asked which value she hoped the next generation would carry forward. She chose courage and spoke about drawing motivation from difficulties in her own life. After receiving the crown, she shared the moment online and thanked those who had supported her.

Tuổi Trẻ reports that she made the top 25 in the talent competition, the top 10 in both swimsuit and social media, and the top five in the audience choice award.

A costume inspired by southern Vietnamese theatre

Thu Thảo reached the top six in national costume with Hồng phượng kỳ vân. The piece by Đặng Phong drew on hát bội, a form of traditional theatre in southern Vietnam, according to Tuổi Trẻ.

Born in 2005, Thu Thảo is from Tuyên Quang and studies at the National Economics University. She had previously made the top 40 at Miss Vietnam and entered The Miss Globe as the 2026 Vietnamese tourism pageant titleholder. Tuổi Trẻ records an earlier Vietnamese winner at The Miss Globe, Đỗ Trần Khánh Ngân in 2017. Lâm Thu Hồng and Đỗ Hà Trang placed fourth runner-up in 2022 and 2024 respectively.
