Techcombank has presented payment, foreign exchange and credit products at a seminar for businesses trading between Vietnam and China. The Government Electronic Newspaper reported that the discussion focused on working capital, international transactions and cash management, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses.
Trade through Lạng Sơn
Trần Thanh Hải, deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s import-export department, said bilateral trade reached about $256.4 billion in 2025, up 17.9% from the previous year. Goods passing through Lạng Sơn border gates accounted for $75.2 billion, an increase of 21.4%, he told the seminar.
Hải said a shift toward formal trade requires businesses to adapt to requirements for product standards, contracts, documentation and payment. The figures he cited concern 2025 and are not a forecast for 2026.
A Techcombank specialist discussed Vietnam’s economic outlook for 2027–2030, including growth, inflation, interest rates and monetary markets. Participants also raised questions about procedures, shipping, paperwork and international payments.
Products presented to businesses
The bank introduced renminbi payments for eligible border-trade goods transported by road through Vietnam–China border gates, subject to applicable conditions and regulations. It described a promotion running to 31 December 2026 with an exchange-rate concession of up to 45 points and waived in-branch international transfer fees for eligible customers.
Techcombank also described credit limits of up to 48 billion đồng for companies with annual revenue of 5–80 billion đồng and up to 50 billion đồng for those with revenue of 80–200 billion đồng. The limits depend on approval and are not automatic financing commitments.
Its business platform was presented for transfers, foreign exchange and cash-flow monitoring. The bank also described a business card with a credit limit of up to 1 billion đồng and an interest-free period of up to 86 days. Maximum advertised terms do not establish the terms offered to every customer.
