Representatives of VIFOREST, HAWA and Forest Trends said Vietnam's domestic timber market needs clear standards for legal raw materials, traceability, quality and product safety, the government news portal reported. One proposal is to use public purchasing, including school furniture made from plantation timber, to encourage products meeting defined requirements. Experts also stressed complete information on e-commerce platforms. The discussion concerns improving market practices and consumer protection rather than establishing a newly enacted standard.
