The social-housing credit program involving 11 commercial banks has expanded beyond VND153 trillion, the Government News reports, citing the State Bank of Vietnam. By August 31, lending commitments stood at about VND50.3 trillion, cumulative disbursements at VND17.5 trillion and outstanding loans at VND14.3 trillion. Officials said disbursement depends on housing supply, construction progress and actual borrowing demand. The registered program size therefore differs from funds already released; these figures concern the commercial-bank channel.
