Archived guide written before kickoff
The section below preserves the guide as updated before kickoff on 2 October. Statements about the result required, Lê Giang’s availability and broadcasters belong to the context before Pakistan, rather than the current status or replay availability. The illustration remains from Vietnam–Thailand on 29 September, as stated in its original caption.
Updated on 2 October 2026, before kickoff. VFF’s 1 October announcement schedules Vietnam–Pakistan for 16:00 on 2 October at Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta, in the final round of Group B at the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup.
Where to watch Vietnam–Pakistan
Thanh Nien’s 29 September report lists FPT Play, TV360 and MyTV as broadcasters. Viewers should check the programme guide for the service they use before kickoff.
VFF reports that the squad moved from Bandung to Jakarta on 30 September. Jakarta is therefore the venue to use for this fixture; the location of the first two matches should not be carried forward automatically.
Lê Giang’s availability still awaits a decision
VFF’s 1 October update says the staff were still assessing Lê Giang Patrik’s elbow with the doctor and goalkeeping coach before deciding whether to use him. The announcement does not confirm the starting goalkeeper.
The result required, and what to watch
Vietnam have three points after beating the Philippines 1–0 and losing 0–2 to Thailand. Thanh Nien explains that victory over Pakistan would take Vietnam to six points and secure second place and a third-place playoff. Pakistan recovered from two goals down to draw 2–2 with the Philippines. Those are completed results, not a prediction for 2 October.
KBVN+ analysis: Two useful questions are how Vietnam resolve the goalkeeper decision and how they maintain concentration if they go ahead. Lê Giang’s selection becomes clear with the official lineup; Pakistan’s comeback is a reason to watch the full match rather than treating an early lead as the final outcome. These are observation points, not claims about an unannounced lineup, formation or future events.
