Tan-Viet VIFON signed a notarised transfer for around eight hectares at the Souhesmes economic zone near Verdun on October 16.

Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade says the planned French complex has initial investment of approximately 20 million euros.

From distribution towards production

The project is intended to include an operating headquarters, a food factory and a logistics centre.

The ministry places it within VIFON's longer effort to develop the French market, moving from Asian-community distribution towards broader retail channels.

It recalls the introduction of products during a Vietnamese goods promotion at Carrefour Collegien in February 2026, supported by Vietnam's trade office.

Local production and logistics are expected to improve supply responsiveness and reduce transport time.

Those are anticipated benefits, not already measured savings or sales.

Further steps remain

Vietnamese diplomatic and economic representatives, French local authorities and business partners attended the signing.

Their participation supports the project's development but does not replace the procedures required for construction and operation.

The ministry says further assistance will include information on French and EU requirements and connections with local authorities, distributors and industrial partners.

The report does not announce an operating date.

The confirmed development is therefore a land-transfer step for a proposed production and logistics complex. Completion, manufacturing output and commercial effects remain future stages requiring separate evidence.

The site is intended to combine management offices, manufacturing and logistics functions.
