Alstom signed an October 6 contract to supply trains and transfer technology to Vingroup for five Hanoi metro lines, VnExpress reported. Under the plan, the first 83 trainsets will be manufactured in Valenciennes, France. Alstom will provide technology and key components for the remaining 117 to be assembled in Vietnam. The total package covers 200 five-car Metropolis trainsets designed for fully automated GoA4 operation. These are contracted production and assembly plans, not a count of trains already delivered or carrying passengers.
