Daisy Ridley, Sosie Bacon and Simon Rex will star in Get Rid of It, a road-trip horror film scheduled to shoot at the start of 2027. Variety reported that Ry Russo-Young directs from Gemma Holdway's screenplay, with David Lancaster producing.

A fictional journey turns into a survival story

Ridley plays Harper, who discovers she is pregnant after an encounter with a mysterious drifter, Miller, played by Rex. She begins a cross-country trip with her sister Jessie, portrayed by Bacon.

The horror premise develops as the sisters suspect that what is growing inside Harper may not be human. Their journey becomes a fight for survival, with their relationship central to the story.

Russo-Young highlighted the project's point of view and emotional core beneath its genre elements. Her comments describe the team's creative ambition for the material.

Sales launch precedes the planned shoot

Upgrade, CAA Media Finance and Range Select are introducing the film at the American Film Market and handling sales. The cast announcement forms part of preparation for production.

Lancaster's credits include Whiplash, Nightcrawler and Drive. Russo-Young previously directed Before I Fall, The Sun Is Also a Star and episodes of Shrinking.

Ridley's work includes Star Wars, Young Woman and the Sea and We Bury the Dead. Bacon has appeared in Smile, Mare of Easttown and Family Movie, while Rex's credits include Red Rocket and Blink Twice.

The next announced production milestone is the early-2027 shoot, as partners present the project to distributors at AFM.
