A rock concert called Thai Nguyen Bung Sang (Thai Nguyen Lights Up) will take place at Thai Nguyen provincial stadium on the evening of 2 November, running about two hours with around 30,000 people expected, according to VnExpress and Tuoi Tre. The line-up includes Ho Ngoc Ha, Isaac, Anh Tu, Dong Hung, Thai Thuy Linh, Bao Tram Idol, Nhat Huyen, rock band Ngu Cung and the army band Bo Doi. No tickets are sold; gates stay open until the stadium is full, and fans must pass three security checks.

Two big nights in a row

Tuoi Tre reported that the province added the rock show, less than a day after the national concert Proud to be Vietnamese: Join Hands on 1 November, because of the huge response to that event. If both nights reach capacity, the two concerts will draw about 60,000 people in total. Tuoi Tre said these are the first concerts in the province planned for up to 30,000 people, and that authorities had issued a warning over illegal ticket reselling for the national concert.

The rock concert is organised by the provincial Party committee, People's Committee, Fatherland Front and culture department as part of the International Tea Festival 2026, and marks the 195th anniversary of the province's founding (1831-2026).

Why rock

General director Nguyen Trung Dung told VnExpress that rock makes up about 50% of the music, with pop rock and pop making up the other 50%, so the show can reach audiences of all ages rather than only rock fans. He told Tuoi Tre the concert is a standalone show that carries on the pride of the national concert, describing rock as raw and powerful but also sincere.

Know before you go

With no tickets and gates closing once the stadium is full, fans planning to attend should arrive early and allow time for three security checks. Organisers hope the show will introduce Thai Nguyen's history, culture and people during the tea festival.
