Thai Nguyen have won all three of their opening V.League 2 matches, according to the Vietnam Professional Football company's round-up.

A 4-1 victory over Hue took the leaders to nine points, two ahead of the chasing group.

Pressure remains close behind

Thai Nguyen benefited after Cong an Nhan dan and Hung Yen drew 1-1.

Hung Yen, Khanh Hoa and Becamex TP.HCM are among the teams on seven points. Khanh Hoa beat Long An 1-0, while Becamex remained unbeaten with their win away to CLB TP.HCM.

Thai Nguyen next visit Becamex TP.HCM in round four, providing a direct test against one of the nearby challengers.

The standings cover only the opening three rounds. The leaders have established an advantage, but the gap remains small enough to change quickly.

Other teams seek consistency

Cong an Nhan dan stand seventh on four points in the table described by VPF, five behind Thai Nguyen and three behind the seven-point group.

The round-up identifies improved consistency as an immediate priority following the draw with Hung Yen.

At the other end, Long An, Quy Nhon United, Hue and Xuan Thien Phu Tho are all without a win and have one point each.

Those early results do not settle the season's final positions, but they show which teams need to begin accumulating points.

Round three therefore left Thai Nguyen setting the pace while the chasing sides remained close and several clubs below continued searching for a more stable start.
